Centuries dedicated to the art of wine
Bodegas Montegaredo is located in Boada de Roa (Burgos), in the heart of the Ribera del Duero region, 5 km from the Regulating Board for the 'Ribera del Duero' protected designation of origin.
Within the 'Ribera del Duero' designation of origin, there are privileged and historical areas for the growth of vineyards, and one of these is precisely the environment of Boada de Roa.
As far back as the 10th century, the monks of the Monastery of Boada, realised the special microclimate of the area and contributed with their knowledge in the growth of vineyards.
All this was already envisioned by our previous generations who, through out the past centuries, have elaborated the wine at the ancient underground cellars.
At present, with our singular Pyramid semi-buried in the ground (unique in the world), tradition and innovation come together in Bodegas Montegaredo.
