Viñedos Montegaredo are located in the heart of the Ribera del Duero, in the best location, orientation and altitude that nature offers. We acknowledge of the good fruit with which nature supports our wines.
Viñedos Montegaredo are composed of 70 hectares of the country's red grape variety.

One of the best terrains for growing vineyards is found on the foothills of the Manvirgo Hill (940 meters above sea level), which is called “Pago de Garedo”. It is this terrain which occupies almost half of the surface area of the winery´s vineyard, with 30 hectares. In addition to Pago de Garedo (Montegaredo), there are other Pagos also located in privileged areas, such as Montaneros, Manvirgo, La Cuesta, Hoyo, Bombina, Picón, Fuente Casares, Corcos, Dehesilla, La Nogalera, Entanillas, Hornatejas, Bendiciones, Carrizos, Camino Real, El Valle, Carramonte, Casillas, El Pinar and “Pirámide”.
The altitude of the vineyards allows the climate to gain a temperate mild, allowing the grapes to develop slowly until their point of maturity in clay and calcareous soils.
Another important factor for the quality of the vineyards is the thermal amplitude. Montegaredo´s vineyards benefit from abundant sun during the day and cool temperatures at night. This big variation in temperatures enables the formation of aromatic notes and helps to fix pigments, responsible for the color and development of the components that give that great body and structure to our wines, essential conditions for the wine to have a lifetime curve.
Pruning of the vineyards is also done manually. We are aware that the pruning in winter of the vine is one of the most important actions to be carried out in the vineyard and will define many aspects of the future campaign.
During the annual cycle in our vineyards we perform different prunings to get them shaped, improve health, vigour and regulate the vineyard, also pruning in green (pruning dates will depend on the weather, the age of the strains ...); we have all the factors in mind to get a good vintage. In this way the productions at Montegaredo are controlled and limited to achieve the best wines.
Wisdom throughout time
One of the fundamental pillars of the vineyards are our “Old Vines”, with more than 70 years old they never ceases to amaze us in each vintage… and the time in each of our vines counts, guaranteeing the quality of our wines.
Tradition perpetuates the life of these "Old Vines” just as our ancestors did. This is where Montegaredo´s Vineyards stands out in their different terroirs: "Time grants the wisdom, and Montegaredo counts with it."
Old vineyards usually offer grape clusters with higher concentrations, among other things, of sugar and polyphenols.
